Only a few more days until we set foot on African soil, but the adventure has already begun...
So, we are heading to Blantyre, Malawi, for our final medical school rotation. Libby will be doing OB/Gyn (at a hospital with more deliveries than they know what to do with), and Jonathan will be doing surgery. The adventure lies in the fact that our flight arrives in Lilongwe, Malawi, at 2pm on Sunday. There is an internal airline that connects the two cities, but the last flight of the day to Blantyre departs five minutes before we arrive.
The alternative? A bus, which is apparently pretty nice. The last bus of the day leaves at 4pm, but we're told that that's apparently not long enough to make the connection. So, it looks like once we arrive, we'll have to figure out some place to stay and then manage the bs system to take a bus Monday morning.
Long story short, don't expect any posts to this blog until Monday afternoon, unless we happen upon some unexpected internet access. Maybe then you can read about our adventures during our layover in London...
